Bond Point
Testable Single Bonding Point
Equipotential bonding is the act of bonding all the metal components in an area together to create substantially the same electrical potential, so that, under fault conditions, the difference in potential between simultaneously accessible exposed and extraneous conductive parts will not cause electric shock.
In a swimming pool or spa environment, these components could include the reinforcing steel shell of the swimming pool, the steel within a deck or under tiling, the metal pool fencing or spigots, any metal lights, windows, downpipes, ladders etc that are within arm’s reach (1.25m) of the pool/spa’s edge. In a domestic or commercial environment, this would include the re-enforcing steel in the concrete slab or wall.
The Conductor Hub and Bond Point systems allow Contractors to easily and confidently certify that an area has been sufficiently grounded and ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3000:2018 (Wiring Rules) legislation.
